CLAY

When Clay got back to Bradley House, he was surprised to see Billy sitting behind the front desk. “Hey, Billy, why are you still here? Did something happen to Melissa?”

“No, she’s just getting coffee. I stuck around to see you. I’m guessing your date went well since you’re just getting home now?” He smiled slyly.

“Um, yeah, things were really good.” Clay blushed. “Better than I could have imagined.”

“Excellent. I’m really happy for you. If anyone deserves some good shit to finally happen in their life, it’s you.”

“I really appreciate that, Billy. You’re a good friend.”

“Hi, Clay,” Melissa said from the doorway to the breakfast room. “There’s a fresh pot of coffee in the kitchen.”

“Thanks, Mel. Maybe later. Right now, I’m gonna get some laundry done while I have the time. Let me know if you need anything.” And with that, he bounded up the stairs. He couldn’t help but smile, thinking about the wonderful time he’d spent with Finn. Life was good.
